The New England Brawler (NEB), as a mixed martial arts website, can trace its roots back to September of 2012 when it was started in a Northeastern University’s journalism lab by your’s truly, Matt Juul.
However, the New England area, as a whole, has a long and storied history that’s intertwined with warriors and fighters looking to make a mark on the world. Whether it’s the Sons of Liberty who ignited a nation with the Boston Tea Party in 1773 or just a local kid trying to rise the ranks on the amatuer MMA scene, brawlers of all shapes and sizes are at the heart of this great region of the United States.
The overrarching focus of NEB will be to provide you, the fans, with the best local MMA coverage around. However, our true goal is to produce content that really speaks to this theme of the warrior spirit that is so prevalent in the New England area.
MMA has become one of the fast-growing sports in the world, not just because of all the excitement and action inside the cage, but also because of all the great stories and fantastic people involved.
That’s what we want to cover here at NEB.
