CES MMA announced via its Facebook page today that two of New England’s top welterweights will be headlining the promotion’s Dec. 7 card in Lincoln, RI.
Former The Ultimate Fighter contestant Chuck “Cold Steel” O’Neil will take on Tri-Force MMA’s Keith “Sonic Boom” Jeffrey as the main event when CES MMA comes to the Twin River Casino later this year.
Check out a video, posted on CES MMA’s Facebook page, showing a vicious win by “Cold Steel” from 2010’s Cage Titans 1 above.
The one-time UFC veteran will look to bounce back from a June loss to Kevin Nowaczyk, who took a hard fought unanimous decision to defeat O’Neil at Hoosier Fight Club 11. Priot to the loss, “Cold Steel” made a successful rebound after being cut by the UFC, taking the split decision at W-1 Reloaded to defeat vet Marcus Davis last year.
Jeffrey, on the otherhand, is looking to take a step up in the competition and add another victory to his current winning streak. “Sonic Boom” has gone 3-0 in his last three bouts, all under the CES MMA banner, with his most recent win coming via second round guillotine choke over Harley Beekman this past June.
If Jeffrey can get past the Team Triumph product, it would be a huge win for the Rhode Island native.
Check back soon as CES MMA reveals the rest of the fight.
